Quick answer: a quinceañera invitation opens with a blessing, most often "Con la bendición de Dios y de mis padres" ("With the blessing of God and my parents"). Then come her name and the occasion ("Mis XV años"), her parents and padrinos, the date, the Misa de acción de gracias (Mass of Thanksgiving) with its church and time, the recepción with its venue and time, and a reply line with a date: "Confirma tu asistencia antes del 15 de febrero". For families split between Spanish and English, write it once and let each guest read it in their own language. The wording for every one of those lines is below.
A XV años invitation speaks to more people than most invitations do. Abuela reads every word of the blessing. The padrinos look for their names. Her cousins in Texas want the time of the party and nothing else. The wording below is written for all of them, in the Spanish that families in Mexico and the United States actually use, with an English version beside each line.
What goes on a quinceañera invitation, in order
- The blessing line. One sentence that thanks God and her parents, and sometimes her padrinos.
- Her name and the occasion. "Mis XV años" when she is the one inviting, "Los XV años de Valentina" when her parents are.
- Her parents, and her padrinos if you list them.
- The date, written out: sábado 13 de marzo de 2027.
- The Mass: its name, the time, the church and its address.
- The reception: the time, the venue and its address.
- The dress code, if there is one: "Vestimenta formal".
- The reply line, with a date.
- The seats line: how many places are reserved for the family.
Put together, a complete invitation reads like this:

The opening blessing line and its variants
The blessing is the line most XV invitations begin with, and the one older relatives notice first. The choice that matters most is whose voice the invitation speaks in. With "mis padres", she is inviting her guests herself. With "sus padres", her parents are inviting them on her behalf, which is the more formal choice. Pick one voice and keep it to the end: an invitation that opens with "mis padres" and closes with "los esperamos" (we await you) has changed who is speaking.
| Spanish | English | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Con la bendición de Dios y de mis padres | With the blessing of God and my parents | She invites in her own voice. The most common opening. |
| Con la bendición de Dios y el amor de mis padres | With the blessing of God and the love of my parents | A warmer version of the same line. |
| Con la bendición de Dios y de sus padres | With the blessing of God and her parents | Her parents invite. More formal. |
| Con la bendición de Dios, de mis padres y de mis padrinos | With the blessing of God, my parents and my godparents | The padrinos are close family or are hosting part of the day. |
| Gracias a Dios y con el amor de mi familia | Thanks to God and with the love of my family | She is raised by grandparents, one parent, or a wider family. |
| Con la bendición de Dios, de mi madre y en memoria de mi padre | With the blessing of God, my mother, and in loving memory of my father | A parent has passed away. |
| Con la ilusión de toda mi familia | With all my family's excitement | A celebration without a Mass, or a family that prefers no religious line. |
Some families add a short verse under the blessing, such as "Hoy dejo atrás mis muñecas para empezar a soñar" ("Today I leave my dolls behind and begin to dream"). Keep it to one or two lines. On a phone, a long poem pushes the date and the reply button off the first screen.
How to list her parents and padrinos
Her parents' full names go right after the blessing, joined with y: "Roberto Hernández y María Elena Ruiz". For divorced parents who are both hosting, list each on their own line, without "y" between them.
Padrinos are where invitations get long. A quinceañera can have a dozen sets: padrinos de misa, de vestido, de anillo, de cojín, de última muñeca, de pastel and more. Two approaches work:
- Name only the main padrinos on the invitation ("Mis padrinos de honor: Jorge y Patricia Ruiz") and thank the rest in the Mass program or on her website.
- List them all on a separate page: her website has room for every pair and what they sponsored, and nobody has to scroll past twenty names to find the time of the Mass.
Mis padrinos de honor
Jorge Ruiz y Patricia Salinas de Ruiz
My godparents of honor: Jorge Ruiz and Patricia Salinas de Ruiz
How to name the Mass and the reception
Name each part of the day the way your guests will look for it, and give each its own time and place. Families often come to only one of them, so a guest should be able to see at a glance which one they are invited to and when.
| Spanish | English |
|---|---|
| Misa de acción de gracias | Mass of Thanksgiving |
| Ceremonia religiosa | Religious ceremony |
| Recepción | Reception |
| Recepción y cena | Reception and dinner |
| Vals y fiesta | Waltz and party |
| Tornafiesta (the next day) | Day-after gathering |
Write the time the way your guests read it. Families in the United States read 6:00 p.m.; formal invitations in Mexico often say 18:00 hrs. If the reception follows straight after the Mass, "Al término de la misa" ("Following the Mass") is a graceful alternative to a second clock time.
On a QuikRSVP form, each of these becomes a part of the event, with its own when and where. Guests tick the parts they will come to, and your list counts each one separately: how many are coming to the Mass, how many to the party. The sample XV RSVP has three parts (the Mass, the reception and dinner, and the waltz and party), and you can try it as a guest.
The court of honor rehearsal line
Her damas and chambelanes need something nobody else does: the rehearsal schedule. Put it on their invitation only. A rehearsal line printed on every invitation leaves the other guests asking whether they are expected.
Ensayo del vals para mi corte de honor
Todos los sábados de febrero, 4:00 p.m.
Casa de la familia Hernández
Waltz rehearsal for my court of honor · Every Saturday in February, 4:00 p.m. · At the Hernández family home
If the court is still being formed, ask first, in a separate message: "¿Te gustaría ser parte de mi corte de honor?" ("Would you like to be part of my court of honor?").
In QuikRSVP, add the rehearsal as its own part and type a tag such as corte in its Only for guests tagged… box. Give her damas and chambelanes that tag, and the rehearsal appears only on their personal invitation links. Everyone else sees the Mass and the party, and your list shows exactly who has confirmed the rehearsal.
The RSVP question and the answer buttons
A digital RSVP asks one question and gives the guest two or three buttons. Ask the question in the same voice as the blessing, and make the buttons sound like the answer a guest would give out loud.
¿Nos acompañas?
¡Ahí estaré! · No podré ir · Aún no lo sé
Will you join us? · I'll be there! · Can't make it · Not sure yet
¿Me acompañas en mis XV años?
¡Claro que sí! · Esta vez no podré · Te confirmo pronto
Will you celebrate my quinceañera with me? · Of course! · Not this time · I'll let you know soon
¿Confirmas tu asistencia?
Sí, con mucho gusto · Lamentablemente no podré asistir · Todavía no estoy seguro
Can you attend? · Yes, with pleasure · Regretfully, I can't attend · I'm not sure yet
The first set is what the sample XV RSVP uses. To set your own, open Response Options in the builder: it has a gallery of ready-made wordings that fill in the question and all three buttons in one click, and every word stays editable.
Should you keep the "not sure" button? Keep it while invitations go out, because a family that cannot answer yet will otherwise not answer at all. If the venue needs a firm count, take it off once the reply date is near. A family that taps it still shows up on your list as an answer to follow up.
For whole families, ask for the number of people as well as the answer: "¿Cuántas personas de tu familia nos acompañan?" ("How many from your family are coming?"). Each family answers once, with everyone's name and a meal choice if you ask for one, so 200 guests is usually about 100 replies.
Bilingual wording for families split between Spanish and English
Many XV families are split between two languages: her grandparents read Spanish, her school friends read English, and her parents read both. On paper there are three layouts:
- Spanish first, English under it. The most common, and the most respectful to the grandparents.
- Side by side, Spanish on the left, English on the right. It suits a wide card; on a narrow one both columns end up cramped.
- One language on each side of the card. The cleanest result, if every guest will turn the card over.
Whichever you choose, keep three words in Spanish in the English text: quinceañera, padrinos and XV años. "Fifteenth birthday party" loses everything that makes the day what it is, and English-speaking guests at a quince know the words.
Con la bendición de Dios y de mis padres
te invito a celebrar mis XV años
With the blessing of God and my parents,
I invite you to celebrate my quinceañera
Sábado 13 de marzo de 2027 · Saturday, March 13, 2027
Misa de acción de gracias · Mass of Thanksgiving · 6:00 p.m.
Recepción · Reception · 8:00 p.m.
Confirma antes del 15 de febrero · Please reply by February 15
A digital invitation does not need to fit both languages on one card. On a QuikRSVP form you write it once, in whichever language you think in, and translate it with AI in one click. You read every line before anyone sees it, and each guest taps English or Español and reads the whole invitation in one language. English and Spanish are both free, and every answer lands in the same list, with the language each family chose. The quinceañera RSVP page shows how it looks from both sides.
Reply-date and "this invitation is personal" wording
Ask for replies about 3 weeks before the party. That leaves a week to call the families who have not answered and still gives the venue its final count on time. Send the invitations 6 to 8 weeks ahead, and 3 to 4 months ahead for family travelling from another country.
| Spanish | English |
|---|---|
| Confirma tu asistencia antes del 15 de febrero | Please reply by February 15 |
| Favor de confirmar asistencia a más tardar el 15 de febrero | Kindly confirm your attendance no later than February 15 |
| Agradeceremos tu confirmación antes del 15 de febrero | We would be grateful for your reply by February 15 |
"Favor de confirmar" is the traditional phrase and is standard in Mexico. "Confirma tu asistencia" reads naturally everywhere and is a little warmer.
The seats line tells a family how many places are reserved for them, without listing who is not invited. Say what is reserved, not what is forbidden:
| Spanish | English |
|---|---|
| Hemos reservado 4 lugares en su honor | We have reserved 4 seats in your honor |
| Invitación válida para 2 personas | This invitation is for 2 guests |
| Invitación personal e intransferible | This invitation is personal and non-transferable |
| Con todo cariño, esta celebración es solo para adultos | With love, this celebration is for adults only |
On a digital RSVP, back the words with settings so nobody has to read the fine print. Set the maximum number of guests one reply can bring, and if you separate adults and children, a children's maximum of 0 means no children can be added. Turn on the RSVP deadline, and the form stops accepting replies after that date and time.
WhatsApp messages for her XV
Most quince invitations reach guests on WhatsApp, either one family at a time or in the family group. The message carries the link, and the link carries the invitation. Keep the message short and put the link on its own line, so WhatsApp shows the preview with her photo.

If you upload your guest list with phone numbers, each family's row on your QuikRSVP list has a Send on WhatsApp button. It opens WhatsApp on your own phone with a short note and that family's personal link already written, at no cost, so you can remind just the families still awaiting a reply. More on sending: how to send an RSVP link on WhatsApp. If you also mail paper invitations, print the RSVP's QR code on them. Guests scan it with their phone camera and answer in their own language.
Her website: room for everything the invitation leaves out
The invitation carries the essentials. A quinceañera website carries the rest: the full list of padrinos, the court of honor, hotels for family flying in, the photo slideshow and a countdown, with her RSVP built in. QuikRSVP has two designs made for XV años, and both are live samples you can open:
- Quince Noche: midnight blue and champagne gold, for an evening XV.
- Quince Rosa: blush, rose gold and a tiara over her name, for a daytime XV.
A website is optional, $30 paid once, and included with Signature. The RSVP on its own is free to build, translate and send, and shows you the first 25 family replies, about 50 guests. Event Pro ($35, once) covers up to 150 family replies, which is where most quinces fit.
Frequently asked questions
What do you write on a quinceañera invitation?
In this order: a blessing line ("Con la bendición de Dios y de mis padres"), her name and the occasion ("Mis XV años"), her parents and, if you list them, her padrinos, the date, the Mass with its time and church, the reception with its time and venue, and a line asking guests to reply by a date. Many families add a dress code and a line saying how many seats are reserved for each family.
How do you say RSVP on a XV años invitation in Spanish?
"Confirma tu asistencia antes del 15 de febrero" is the clearest. "Favor de confirmar asistencia" is the traditional form and is very common in Mexico. "R.S.V.P." is understood too, but a full sentence with a date gets more replies than the initials.
Should a quinceañera invitation be in English or Spanish?
Use both if your guests read both. On paper, put the Spanish first and the English under it, or on the back. A digital invitation can do better: you write it once, translate it, and each guest taps English or Español and reads the whole invitation in one language.
When should quinceañera invitations be sent, and when should replies be due?
Send them 6 to 8 weeks before the party, and 3 to 4 months ahead for family who will travel. Set the reply date about 3 weeks before the party, so you have a week to call the families who have not answered and still give the venue its final count on time.
How do you word a limit on guests or no children?
Say what is reserved rather than what is not allowed: "Hemos reservado 4 lugares en su honor" ("We have reserved 4 seats in your honor"), or "Con todo cariño, esta celebración es solo para adultos" ("With love, this celebration is for adults only"). On a digital RSVP, also set the maximum number of guests per reply so the form enforces it.
Can guests answer a quinceañera invitation on WhatsApp?
Yes. Send the RSVP link in a WhatsApp message to each family or to the family group. The guest taps it, it opens in the browser with no app to install, and their answer goes straight to your guest list. Asking for replies in the chat itself works for a few families, but the answers end up scattered across chats.
