Important:
These terms supplement our
Terms of Service. By creating a gift registry or
contributing to one, you agree to both documents.
1. Overview
QuikRSVP's Gift Registry allows couples ("Registry Owners") to create online registries where
guests ("Contributors") can give monetary gifts via credit/debit card. This service is powered
by Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor.
2. For Registry Owners
2.1 Stripe Connected Account
To receive gift contributions, you must create a Stripe Connected Account. By doing so, you agree
to:
2.2 Verification Requirements
Stripe requires identity verification to comply with financial regulations. You will need to
provide:
- Full legal name and date of birth
- Residential address
- Government-issued ID (passport, driver's license, etc.)
- Bank account information for receiving payouts
- Tax identification number (SSN, TIN, or equivalent)
Note:
You do not need to be a registered business. Stripe supports individuals under their
"individual/sole proprietor" category. The verification process is for legal compliance only.
2.3 Payouts
Gift contributions are transferred to your connected bank account according to Stripe's payout
schedule:
- Standard Payouts: 2-7 business days after the contribution
- Payout Currency: Funds are converted to your local currency if different from
the contribution currency
- Minimum Payout: Subject to Stripe's minimum payout thresholds

2.5 Your Responsibilities
As a Registry Owner, you agree to:
- Provide accurate personal and banking information
- Use the registry for legitimate gift-receiving purposes only
- Not create fake or fraudulent registries
- Accept responsibility for disputes with contributors
- Comply with all applicable tax laws regarding received gifts
2.6 Prohibited Activities
You may NOT use the gift registry for:
- Fraud, scams, or deceptive practices
- Money laundering or illegal money transmission
- Fundraising for illegal activities
- Any purpose prohibited by Stripe's Acceptable Use Policy
3. For Contributors (Gift Givers)
3.1 Making Contributions
When you contribute to a registry, your payment is processed by Stripe. Your card will be charged
immediately, and funds will be transferred to the registry owner after processing.
3.2 Payment Security
All payments are processed securely by Stripe. QuikRSVP does not store your full credit card
information. Payment data is encrypted and handled according to PCI-DSS standards.
3.3 Refunds
Important:
Gift contributions are generally non-refundable once processed. Please confirm
the registry and amount before completing your contribution.
Exceptional circumstances where refunds may be considered:
- Fraudulent registry (not associated with a real event)
- Duplicate charges due to technical error
- Unauthorized use of your payment method (report to your bank)
To request a refund, contact support@quikrsvp.com with
your transaction details.
3.4 Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank (chargeback), the registry owner may have the amount
deducted from their account. We encourage you to contact us directly before initiating a
chargeback.
4. Disputes Between Parties
QuikRSVP acts as a platform connecting registry owners and contributors. We are not
a party to the transaction between you.
- We do not guarantee the legitimacy of any registry
- We are not responsible for disputes between owners and contributors
- We may assist in investigating potential fraud at our discretion
5. Tax Information
Important Disclaimer:
QuikRSVP does not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. The information below is for
general informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for understanding and
complying with all applicable tax laws in your jurisdiction.
5.1 Payment Processing & Reporting
Contributions received through QuikRSVP's gift registry are processed via Stripe, a third-party
payment processor. When you create a Stripe Connected Account to receive funds:
- Stripe may be required to report payment transactions to tax authorities
- In the United States, this may include issuing 1099-K forms to account
holders who meet certain thresholds (currently reported to the IRS)
- Similar reporting requirements may exist in other jurisdictions
- You may receive tax forms from Stripe directly, depending on your transaction volume
and location
5.2 For Registry Owners
As a Registry Owner receiving contributions, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Tax Responsibility: You are solely responsible for determining whether
contributions received constitute taxable income in your jurisdiction
- Reporting Obligations: You are responsible for reporting any income to
appropriate tax authorities as required by law
- Record Keeping: You should maintain records of all contributions received
for tax purposes
- Professional Advice: We strongly recommend consulting a qualified tax
professional or accountant regarding the treatment of funds received through your registry
Note on Gift Tax: While personal gifts from individuals may not be considered
taxable income to the recipient in many jurisdictions (the gift tax, if applicable, typically
falls on the giver), the processing of funds through a payment platform may trigger reporting
requirements that you must address on your tax return. This does not necessarily mean the funds
are taxable, but you must properly document and report them.
5.3 For Contributors
Gift contributions to a personal registry are generally not tax-deductible as
charitable donations because:
- Registry owners are typically individuals, not registered charities
- Personal gifts do not qualify for charitable deductions
If you require a tax deduction for your contribution, please consult a tax professional about
alternative giving options.
5.4 No Tax Advice
QuikRSVP, its employees, and affiliates are not tax advisors. Nothing in these terms or on
our platform should be construed as tax, legal, or financial advice. For guidance specific
to your situation, please consult qualified professionals in your jurisdiction.
6. Service Availability
The gift registry feature is available in countries supported by Stripe Connect. Availability
may be limited in certain regions. We reserve the right to restrict access based on geographic
location or regulatory requirements.
7. Termination and Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate registry accounts that:
- Violate these terms or our general Terms of Service
- Are associated with fraudulent activity
- Receive excessive chargebacks
- Violate Stripe's terms of service
Upon termination, pending payouts may be held for up to 90 days to cover potential chargebacks.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- QuikRSVP is not liable for lost, delayed, or failed payments
- We are not responsible for Stripe's actions or service availability
- We are not liable for disputes between registry owners and contributors
- Our total liability shall not exceed the platform fees collected from your account
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Gift Registry Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated
via email or through the service. Continued use of the registry feature after changes constitutes
acceptance.
